I love Kronberger with a passion. As a matter fact when I first went to Crown Burger and I still notice in today, the greatest barbecued waiver in the hamburger. Today I had a bacon mushroom jalapeno and cheese burger. All on one burger of course. It was excellent. I have no complaints about Grauberger.

Great Burgers in the SLC area. Every visit has been great. And can you say Fry Sauce? Always hit this place when in town.

Lured in by the delicious smelling smoke filling the streets and had to stop and grab a burger. Western bacon cheeseburger to be exact! It was great, and huge! The fries coulda been salted and the wait in the drive thru was ridiculous, but it was lunch time! Also way too expensive for a burger joint, $11 for one burger and medium drink and medium fries... For that only 3 stars

I've had better, definitely not the best, and a little overpriced for a burger. Very busy during lunch hour, and parking is ridiculous.

Crown Burger is a solid option in the event that I want a decent burger but don't have time to sit down at a full service restaurant. Bacon cheeseburgers here are the way to go. They also have pretty good fry sauce. This particular restaurant is clean, bright, and efficiently run. The location makes it convenient both for residents of South Salt Lake and also for individuals traveling on I-15, as it is relatively close to the freeway. Thanks, Crown Burger, for all that you do!

The Crown is the way to go. Their Fries are pretty amazing, as well as their fry sauce, and it wasn't too expensive for a burger place. This place is followed by lots of tradition and years and years of experience, with an old fashion taste and Utah culture galore.

Jr crown burger combo is big enough to feel an adult. Crown burger loads their burgers with a lot of meat and you can tell their veggies are fresh. Their fries have been a favorite of mine, they are tick and cooked perfectly. And last but not least their vanilla ice cream is so creamy and delicious!

I'm never disappointed when we go here.

You can't go wrong with a crown burger. You just can't. The pastrami literally falls apart in your mouth - it isn't salty or fatty - just lean and spiced to perfection. This location has different onion rings than the original crown burger location has, but they were so much better! The onions were thick, breading thin, and they were a lot smaller - but had a better flavor. This location is extremely clean inside too!

Im always trying to be healthy and I am always craving unhealthy food. I love crown because I can come here and order a cheese burger wrapped in lettuce and you literally dont even notice the bun is missing the burger is so flavorful! I never feel guilty after and I am always satisfied!

I am addicted to the vanilla milkshake and fries at this place! One thing I love is the diversity of the menu. Sometimes I don't feel like getting a burger but my husband does, so if we came here he can get the burger and I can get a gyro or something else. All food we've had here has been delicious.

Burgers and fries are superb. I loved going here. I went a lot as a teen. Recently I went and its been about 10 years since my last visit. It was as good as I remember! Although my bacon burger meal was $13. Tasty, but expensive for a burger.

Can anyone beat a Crown Burger? It'd take a lot to do so. The original, and I would say still the best Pastrami cheeseburger in town, freshly cooked to order. In addition, crisp fries, and creamy fry sauce complete this classic burger. Not in the mood? There's a wide variety of Greek food (Gyros, chicken souvlaki, etc), and American food (Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and a rib eye sandwich to name a few) to round out the menu. Nice environment, very clean, and friendly. Make sure you top off your visit with an ice cream cone or a shake.

The imitators just don't measure up. When it comes to the pastrami burger...Apollo, Atlantis, Olympus, etc. will offer what seems to be the same thing. On paper, it's the same. In reality, it's not. The way they cook the pastrami must be different because the flavor is excellent vs the imitators and it's soft meat. Apollo does a pretty good job with the pastrami but it's still noticeably different. The gyros are very good. Fresh ingredients and soft, well-seasoned meat. The sauce is great. Don't go there and fail to try a gyro. They're often rated as having the second best gyros (among fast food style restaurants) in SLC, after Greek Soulvaki. FRY SAUCE! They do a great job with fry sauce. You'd think that is something you can't screw up or do exceptionally well...but you'd be wrong if you did. Just mayo and ketchup makes for average fry sauce, and some imitators screw up the ratio and then it's terrible (Atlantis in NSL). Crown Burger adds some spices and relish, resulting in an excellent fry sauce. Fries...yeah, they're hit and miss. But that is everywhere. I think sometimes you get lucky with a great batch and sometimes you don't. So you can't say anything about fries for any of these restaurants. McDonalds has made consistent fries into a super science, but even they don't always give you a good batch. I still think the best fries come from Arby's (curly fries).

As a big fan of burgers, I come here regularly. It's a big step up taste-wise from fast food but at the price and convenience of fast food (basically). I love that they're local, they put lemon in their iced tea, and the bacon is always cooked perfectly. Sometimes they put too many onions for my taste and I wish the lettuce shreds wouldn't fall out all over the place (I want to eat them). I'm a big fan of their fries and fry sauce, but especially when their fries are on the crispier side. Some of the other crown burger locations have crispier fries than this particular location, but I usually come here for convenience. Thanks for being my Saturday morning breakfast basically every weekend, crown burger.

I kept hearing about Crown Burgers, and on my way to do some errands, I drove by a Crown Burger, so I decided to stop in and have some lunch. We tried both the Crown Burger and the Western Bacon Cheeseburger. To me, there was no contest. The Western Bacon Cheeseburger was by the far the best. I normally get the western bacon cheeseburger from Carl's Jr, but after trying it at Crown Burgers, I will always come back for this burger. The onion rings were crispy and the BBQ sauce ratio to the whole burger was great. I will definitely come back to Crown Burgers but next time I'll try their milkshakes, as I saw many people in the restaurant with a shake.

If you're looking for an absolutely over priced indulgence, you've found the mother ship. The decor is so dated and weird that I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I don't know if I find it beneficial to be able to see my food being prepared - but I can appreciate the vintage feel you get from that. I personally get the patty melt on rye bread. They do a wonderful job toasting the bread so beautifully, it's buttery and crispy. The burger is wonderful and whatever cheese is always gooey and melted to perfection. I really do enjoy it thoroughly.

I had been planning to try Crown Burgers again after a 2-year hiatus. I remember thinking it was okay but I got the urge to try it out again after seeing that it was on Man vs. Food. I went in with a good appetite and left disappointed. I had tried the Crown Burger the last time I went and it was alright. This time around I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and Onion Rings. The hamburger patty tasted like the frozen patties that you buy in bulk. Not so good and definitely not fresh. The onion rings, contrary to what people had told me, were bland and overpriced. The rings cost about a dollar less than the burger. Listen, I like that this place is a Salt Lake City staple and I support that it is not a big chain. But I also think there are plenty of other burger places in SLC that could represent us much better. I would argue that people that rate Crown Burgers so high haven't tried better and are living in burger ignorance. That just happened.

Good pastrami burgers, good fries and good service (if you can understand them over the PA system they use). Overall this location seems pretty clean (disclaimer, I don't know about the restrooms) and they have really good fry sauce, onion rings and a variety of other sandwiches (my Dad always gets the Steak Sandwich).

No substitutions? Gimme a break! Seriously, I believe this is the first place that I have been that refused an up sale substitution when ordering a combo. I mean really, is it that much of an imposition to add a buck and change so that you can have sweet potato fries rather than traditional fries?? Sigh, one star off for that. The burger I had was full of AWESOME flavor... emphasis on the chargrilled element, however the patties were on the thinner side. The standard fries were very crispy and plentiful... but you cant substitute them! The chicken fingers were like any other chicken fingers at other locations. Nice dining area... dare I say "upscale looking" for a burger joint. Maybe it was too early in the morning when we arrived, but the employee at the counter was rude and curt. Maybe her morning coffee was decaf, but the end result is that we didn't feel welcomed or appreciated. Ill check Hires for comparison.

If you're looking for a delicious messy burger, this is the place for it. They're always very generous with the toppings on the burgers, the fries are great and the shakes are nice and thick. In true Utah fashion, they also have fry sauce. If you're looking for a burger joint, this place has it all.

Tons of people working here all the time. I think that makes the price of food much higher than required. They sort of just stand there & stare at you Otherwise cool flavor combinations.

Delicious burgers! Try the Crown Burger. Careful they can get quite large!

Crown burgers are a bit of a staple in the SLC area. This one is right on State Street. It is new and more importantly really clean compared to several of the other locations. In fact it is probably the nicest location there is. I would take a burger from here over Five Guys any time. The french fries are certainly much better than Five Guys. While burgers and fries are not exactly healthy these are less greasy than Five Guys. Spend a little time and Google the nutritional information about Five Guys. You can't even begin to compare places like McDonalds and Burger King to a place like this. This location and the Highland Drive store seem to nail the highest quality and consistency. The West Valley City location is probably the lowest for me. The owners are very nice and you can often talk with them at this location. This location has a drive through. They have seven locations in the area. Enjoy.

A quick update... I have now eaten the *Crown* Burger - the one with pastrami on it. And I declare it to be wonderful. With mustard. I gave it two thumbs up. I have also eaten a straight-up pastrami sandwich at the Crown and it too is delicious. Maybe not the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. But it is tasty, for sure.

Crown Burger is vastly superior to all the other Greek burger joints in town (with the possible exception of Dask's). I've never been a huge fan of the actual Crown Burger, as I feel the pastrami just makes the whole thing too salty to eat. But, to each his own. Their bacon cheeseburger, on the other hand, is amazingly wonderful. The bacon is thick and crispy and the burger patty is juicy and wonderful. The fries here are better than most and the fry sauce is also very good. Best in Utah? No. (Try Lucky 13 or Purple Turtle for that). But really, very good and tasty. To me, the biggest victory for Crown over their competition, is the salad. Yah, I said it... the salad! Their Chef Salad is a thing of beauty. They use a variety of lettuce, rather than just Iceberg and there is a huge amount of turkey and ham CHUNKS... not slivers. The ingredients are fresh and crisp and the tomatoes are ripe and delicious. When we get the Chef salad at the "other" places, we usually have to discard at least 20-30% of the Iceberg due to wilting and age. Not so at Crown. Yes, eating at Crown Burger is gonna cost you about twice what you'd pay at McD's or Wendy's, but if I'm going to splurge on the calories built into a bacon cheeseburger and fries, IMA do it right, regardless of the cost!

This is seriously one fantastic burger joint. Yes it's fast food. But the quality of the meat, the amount of carcinogens spewing the grill, make for a fantastic flavor. I can't wait to go back and try their Pastrami burger.

I've been to Crown Burger several times over the last 10 years, but it was important for me to have a recent visit before writing up a review. My buddy Ryan and I hit up the Crown Burger as part of our "Hamburger Friday" journey. This is our second stop on the tour. As we were driving down to Crown Burger we drove past McDonald's. Somebody in the car said "it's interesting that Crown Burger can sell a burger for $5, while McDonald's can only charge a few bucks". Even though their burgers cost up to 5x more than McDonald's, the place was busier. The bottom line is that people will pay more $ for better quality. THE FOOD I ordered the signature "Crown Burger", which is a 1/3 burger with pastrami on top. This burger isn't for everyone, but meat lovers will love it. The burger exceeded my expectations, and was a welcome upgrade over last Friday's Tonyburger's experience. I'm not a big fan of their thick fries, but they did offer copious servings of fry sauce, which made them palatable. This is one area where McDonald's has them beat. THE DINING AREA The dining area was nice. Every seat in the joint is a comfortable booth. It's a great place to unwind and converse with friends. The parking lot is easily accessible, and parking was ample. THE SERVICE The service was great. The food came out quickly, which was nice. Overall it was a solid experience that I would recommend to any hamburger lover.

after numerous visits ambience: B+ possibly one of the most recently built crown burgers in salt lake city. and as such, one of the cleanest looking, and freshest smelling ones hands down. enjoy the grecian urns and murals on the ceiling/walls. service: A i don't think i've been to a burger joint quite like this. there are a couple of older gentlemen (owners) who come out and periodically (depends on their mood) greet and ask me about my dining experience. interesting and nice. as for the food service, timing is always on. haven't had a hiccup yet. food: A- possibly THE best fry sauce in utah. in fact, i'm going to go as far as to say, their fry sauce IS the best in utah, and add it to my 'best of' list. for you connoisseurs of fry sauce, here's the scoop: perfect balance of sweet, savory, and mild heat. what creates the mild heat? i have NO idea. but, i'll go out on a limb and make a guess - it could be thai chili sauce, or cayenne pepper? whatever it is, it kicks fry sauce up a notch. regular hamburger or crown burger (regular hamburger with cheese and pastrami) just a solid burger with good pastrami. not that thin grocery store stuff i used to put on my sandwiches when i was younger. (i recently ordered a pastrami sandwich from hires big h that used that kind of pastrami. tasted just fine, but come on...) french fries their french fries are always cooked and salted nicely. overall: A- a solid four stars. i think the reason why this particular crown burger never disappoints, is because the owners are always there. and if that's what it takes, that's just fine by me!

I happened upon this joint by mere chance. All I can say is "wow!" Pastrami on a burger?!? say what?!? I had a crown burger and caramel shake- all for $8.25. good deal, i think.. Great "mom & pop" feel, even though it seems to be a chain. if you are in SLC, try to seek out one.

Consistently great. Second time I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Amazing. And the fries of course were as good as ever. Very clean.

This is the best Crown Burgers I've been to! The workers are beautiful, and nicely put together. The prices are worth what you get and the char broil is delicious! My boyfriend is a very picky eater... no sauce, no lettuce, no tomatoes... just meat and cheese, so every time we go out for fast food I dread when he orders a burger because 9 times out of 10 they get it wrong! Anyways, when we first tried Crown, he ordered a patty melt (burger, onions and cheese on toasted bread) I was worried they would put something else on it and we would have to turn around. He checked as we pulled away and he said "Yeah, no sauces!" Fast forward 3 yrs and we have been going here when we want fast food ever since! He has now moved on to either the fish dinner, chicken dinner (I eat his salad the dinners come with, he is not a salad man) and now he confidently orders the bacon cheese burger with no worries! Its funny how we have to choose the places we go to due to his stubborn taste buds, but when our silly worry over, " Are they going to make it right this time?".... goes away, its a good feeling! P.s. Id like to add one more thing... They have my favorite fry sauce next to Training Tables ;)

This is the first place I ate when I arrived in SLC... I tried the Bacon Cheeseburger and it was awesome. The Fries were crispy and big,,, but the sauce was the topping of it all! Def. a great burger joint! Too bad I've only seen them in SLC! This place gives In n' Out a run for their money! Probably on the same caliber!

Whenever I'm deathly hungry... Greasy Greek places always sound so good. Gyros and burgers and pastrami! Oh yes. Last night, we decided to hit Crown in between all the moving and shuffling between residences. I for some reason really wanted a pastrami sandwich... with lots and lots of mustard... and pickles... mmmm... So I looked for my nearest Greek burger joint. Oh hey! Crown Burger, right down the street as we were driving. One thing that typically irks me about these places is the a. wait time in the drive-thru, and b. the rude ass employees. This place had the shortest wait time of any of its kind that I've been to. The employee that we dealt with was also pretty nice. So thumbs up for that. I ordered a pastrami sand with extra mustard, and manfriend ordered the gyro. Also a side of fries for us to share, as he is not a huge "fry fan". Ridiculous, I know. Even though we were behind a couple of cars, we were in and out of that drive thru in 10 minutes, tops. Prices are also pretty decent. My sandwich was everything I hoped for.. the only thing I MIGHT have done different, is throw it on some toasted sourdough instead of the french roll they serve it on, but then again, I'd probably eat a boot if it were on toasted sourdough. Trust me, if you order this, get the extra mustard! Your pastrami deserves the love. :) It was a delicious sandwich, the pastrami was perfectly tender without any excess fat, which is nice. I think next time I should just go all out and get extra pickles as well. Manfriend also liked his gyro a lot. I know this because he ate it in literally under 5 minutes. There was a lot of slurping coming from his general vicinity, if that tells you anything. The fries were pretty good. Nothing too outrageously special. But nicely cooked and salted well. Also, I agree with other Yelpers about the level this fry sauce is on. Although not an expert on the topic, coming from CA, from my limited experience with this genius idea, this stuff was up there with the best I've had, definitely. Worth a second, third, and probably what will end up to be several trips. :)

This is by far my favorite burger joint hands down. The burgers are char broiled and delicious and the crown burger with pastrami...when I bite into it I'm pretty sure I have a food-gasm. The fries are always big and hot and delicious. Not a fan of sweet potato fries, but everyone that likes them says they are awesome. They also have a really good ribeye steak sandwich that I sometimes order. I only go every so often being that the food there is very very bad for you, but if you are looking to pig out on some fatty guilty pleasure food, you can't go wrong with this place.

We were only in town for two days...but ate here twice! It was right across the street from our hotel, so that made it a little too convenient. Everything we tried was delicious, but the place can be a little overwhelming if you aren't used to their "system." Dining area was clean and comfortable.
